Seminar at ICFAI University explores Nagaland as tourism destination

CHÜMOUKEDIMA, SEPTEMBER 17 (MExN): ICFAI University, Nagaland, on Wednesday organised a one-day seminar on “Nagaland as an Emerging Tourism Destination” at the university auditorium. The event, held in collaboration with TRS Tours and Travels (T3), Chümoukedima, brought together students, faculty, and industry professionals to explore the tourism potential of the northeastern state.

The seminar aimed to provide students with industry-oriented knowledge and real-world insights into tourism development. Thepfusatuo Chatsu, CEO of TRS Tours and Travels, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the current state and future prospects of Nagaland’s tourism sector. He outlined the comprehensive services offered for domestic and international travelers and noted that ongoing government initiatives—including Naga City development, the construction of an international airport, and railway infrastructure enhancement—are expected to improve accessibility and boost the state’s appeal to tourists.

The event offered students an opportunity to understand real-world challenges and opportunities in tourism, equipping them with practical knowledge for future careers in the sector.
