Dimapur, November 23 (MExN): The Kohima Legends, Essa Warriors, and Lhomithi SC have emerged victorious in their respective matches in the 3rd Edition of the Senior’s Masters League (SML 3).
In the first match on November 23, Kohima Legends dominated Kohima Old Boys with a commanding total of 186/4.
Viketho led the charge with a fluent 75 off 54 balls, supported by Tapito Thupito’s quick 46 off 25 balls. Kohima Old Boys struggled to keep pace, finishing at 117/7 in their 20 overs.
Viketho’s performance earned him Man of the Match honours for his match-defining innings.

In the second encounter, Essa Warriors chased down Nzon CC’s modest total of 124/10 with ease, reaching 125/5 in just 14 overs. Samuel Shohe had stood out for Nzon CC with 61 off 52 balls, but key contributions from Pankaj Ghosh, Raza Baruah, and Alongba Pongen powered Essa Warriors to victory. Shohe was awarded Man of the Match for his resilient batting effort despite his team’s loss.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Lhomithi SC overcome Chumou Veterans in a tightly contested match.
Electing to bat first, Lhomithi SC posted 128/9 in 20 overs, with notable contributions from Hino Chishi (41 off 31) and Toni Achumi (31 off 26). Chumou Veterans could manage only 90, with Alongba’s 20 off 33 being the lone resistance. Sudama’s exceptional bowling performance, a 5-wicket haul for just 17 runs, secured the win and earned him Man of the Match.
