Kiphire, June 20 (MExN): A combined team of District Administration and Medical Department, Kiphire, carried out sensitization drive about COVID-19 vaccine for the leaders of Amahator area at the Extra Assistant Commissioner’s Office, Amahator town, on June 19.
The team was led by Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Chumben Murry, from the Kiphire District Administration and Dr K Pewezo Khalo, DPO (RCH/UIP) from Chief Medical Officer’s Office, Kiphire.
The EAC apprised the leaders about the purpose of the meeting and also spoke about the poor coverage of vaccination in the district while urging the public to come forward and get vaccinated.
Meanwhile, Dr K Pewezo Khalo, sensitized the leaders about the vaccine by emphasizing on the importance of preventing Coronavirus together, stating prevention is the only cure, for which Covid vaccine is the only solution.
Dismissing rumors about the vaccine, Dr Khalo stated that the vaccine was introduced after numerous experiments and after substantiating its efficacy.
He encouraged the village leaders to set good example in order to protect the villages from the disease and accept the vaccine without any hesitation.
The village leaders raised questions regarding the vaccine which were clarified by doctors. The leaders expressed gratitude to the team for taking the time to carry out the sensitization drive, while assuring that they would carry out the same message about the benefits and efficacy of the vaccine in their villages.
