Nakachari, February 27 (MExN): Nimrudh Mondal, of Naganijan Soura Baptist Church, a constituent member Church of the Assam Valley Baptist Mission has been installed today by Rev. Dr. Lima Jamir, Chaplain and Dean of Practical, Eastern Theological College Jorhat at Nakachari to serve as Assistant Evangelist of AVBM.
Born in 1987, Nimrudh Mondal has graduated from Servanthood Bible College, Dimapur in 2010. His salary is being sponsored by Mr & Mrs Lanu Imchen (Mangmetong) and family through the active initiative by the Kumlong Baptist Church Mokokchung.
A press note issued by Er. Temsu Wathi Ao, president, AVBM informed that the AVBM is a common Baptist Christian venture constituted by 48 Baptist Churches mostly independent churches located in the districts of Jorhat, Golaghat and Sibsagar and bordering with Nagaland in the year 2005. The aim of this Mission is very simple – To help in spiritual growth of all the neighbouring churches by uplifting true Christian living and to employ Evangelists for nurturing the already planted but sick churches through the active partnership of any Associations, Churches and individual volunteers.
Rev. Dr. Lima Jamir asserted that the “Assam Valley Baptist Mission” is a perfect mixture of churches and people together wanting to achieve some positive goal in God’s ministry and hence it’s a very constructive approach with a new initiative within the participating churches. He asserted - the first Gospel was brought in to the Naga areas by Late Godhola Brown, the first missionary from Assam to the Nagas. Therefore, it is a duty bound humble gesture to help the people in the plains in strengthening in spiritual bonding through partnership with the AVBM by interested individuals, Churches and Associations in ushering Gospel to the unheard.
The induction service was chaired by Huni Gogoi, Evangelist of AVBM, Imsu Jamir, Advisor of AVBM pronounced the exhortation. The keynote address was delivered by Er. Temsu Wathi Ao, president of AVBM. He announced the upcoming events of the Mission for the current year which includes AVBM Pastors refresher course to be conducted at Clark Theological College at Aolijen, Church leaders training at Nakachari HQ to be sponsored by Kumlong Baptist Church and release of most eligible Pastors salary of AVBM which got sponsored through Kumlong Baptist Church Mokokchung. Vote of thanks was pronounced by Sanjay Pantati, secretary of AVBM followed by mass prayer. The service was attended by Church dignitaries from various churches under AVBM.
