Dimapur, October 15 (MExN): School of Engineering &Technology and School of Management (SETAM), Nagaland University celebrated its 4th freshers’ day today. OT Chingmak Chang, Secretary School Education and Mission Director SSA exhorted the students graced the occasion as chief guest.
Chang in his address said that the world is being transformed by scientific and technological advances and education received in science, mathematics, management and technology alone is not adequate. He said that even routine clerical work has become computerized and more and more jobs require high level skills. Most of these skills, he added, are developed through high quality science, management and technology education. He said these days everybody needs to be familiar with the concepts of science, mathematics, technology and management; reminding reminded students that times are changing constantly and they must keep up. However, he added that along with the advances of science and technology, they must not forget human values.
He exhorted the fresher students telling them that they are the “cream of the society” as they are privileged to be in the institute. He advised them to make the best of use of what the institute can offer so that they can become assets to their parents, community, state and the country.
