In a democratic Christian state like ours (Nagaland state), it is always better to convene meeting between the disputed parties and settle on the basis of the majority ‘opinion’ instead of ‘confronting’
In continuation to my earlier article dated January 22, 2017 (See The Morung Express) ‘Suggest that the ensuing polls of both the ULB and Municipal should be reviewed’, of course, it was good enough on the part of the Nagaland government that extended two months for consultation with the peoples' representatives/ stakeholders (JCC and NBCC) for both the Municipal and urban Local Bodies polls. But, because of "little correction" that omitted the ULB polls in 5 places by the cabinet and conducted the ULB polls in other places that created much incidences. Though, regretted for the loss of two precious lives, the Nagaland state has corrected errors on its part and nullified the entire February 1, 2017 ULB polls.
See the Nagaland Post February 4, 2017. On the issue of the CM resignation demand, if I am not mistaken, so long 42 DAN Legislators back Zeliang's leadership it will be another futile exercise issue for the public. In this connection, I as one of the peace initiators endorsed by the Ex-Naga Hoho President M. Vero and Peace Award Recipient for 2013, suggest that, state govt. of Nagaland must invite JCC and other Tribal Hoho Presidents and deliberate on the issue of the municipal and ULB polls and let the majority opinion decide, to avoid further incidences. It is only suggestion, but decision is yours.
