DIMAPUR, AUGUST 27 (MExN): The Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) on Tuesday expressed concern over the prolonged delay by the Nagaland government in implementing the prescribed pay scale for RMSA 2016 batch teachers.
In a statement, the NWHD described teachers as the backbone of the education system, emphasising that denying them their rightful entitlements despite years of dedicated service is “unacceptable and unjust.”
The body expressed disappointment over the government’s recent statement on August 27, which noted that the matter had been referred to the Supreme Court for a review petition on August 14, urging teachers to “remain patient.” NWHD said such delays are insensitive, as educators struggle to support their families.
The organisation warned that continued government inaction jeopardises not only teachers’ welfare but also the quality of education and the overall development of the State. NWHD called for “immediate and decisive action” to resolve the long-pending matter.
