Kohima, June 24 (MExN): Seven active cadres and four over ground workers (OGWs) of Niki Sumi-led NSCN (K) were arrested during a joint operation conducted by the Security Forces and police after 'a specific input’ in general area Thilixu village, Dimapur on June 23, an official release maintained. They were running “an illegal mess and carrying out extortion activities on National Highway,” stated the release from PRO (Def) Kohima, Lt Col Sumit K Sharma. “The troops also recovered three point 32 Pistols with magazines, 25 point 32 live ammunition and some incriminating documents,” it said.
The apprehended individuals along with recovered items have been handed over to Diphupar Police Station, Dimapur District, for further investigation, it added.
