Several organisations express support to shifting of Dimapur DC’s office

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 4 (MExN): Several tribe organizations today issued a statement in response to the objection raised by the Dimapur District Citizens Forum (DDCF) against the shifting of the Dimapur DC office from the present location to the district headquarter at Chümoukedima.

The organizations stated that they “are not a party to the anti-development and anti-people position adopted by the DDCF against the Government's decision to shift the DC office to its rightful place.”

The statement was appended by the Chakhro Angami Kuda Union, Western Chakhesang Hoho Dimapur, Zeliang People Organization Dimapur, Rengma People Organization Dimapur, Pochury Hoho Dimapur, Rongmei Hoho Dimapur, Inpui Hoho Dimapur, Thangal Hoho Dimapur, Maram Union Dimapur, Mao Hoho Dimapur, Poumai Hoho Dimapur, Naga Tribal Union Chumoukedima Town, Tenyimi Woman Union Dimapur, Tenyimi Students' Union Dimapur, and Tenyimi Youth Organization Dimapur

The organizations said that the DDCF “does not represent the voice of the entire citizens of Dimapur District and in no way carries the people's mandate to speak on this issue.” “It is highly objectionable that the self-styled and un-mandated DDCF with vested agendas is interfering in the functioning of the Government of the day,” it added.

The statement meanwhile “hailed” what it termed as “the wise and farsighted decision of the Government in this matter which is for the sole benefits of the entire citizens of Dimapur District.” “We appeal to all the right-thinking people and organizations to come forward and support the Government in this matter,” it added.
