Dimapur, June 17 (MExN): The Nagaland Gaonbura Federation (NGBF) on Thursday stated that the Sewa International through the initiative of Nagaland Governor, RN Ravi have reached out to 50 villages in remote areas of Noklak and Kiphire districts bordering Myanmar with the medical essentials as pandemic relief.
The essential items include oxymeter, glucometer, digital thermometer, hand sanitizer, 3-ply mask, n95 mask, gloves, face shield, back pack bag, PPE coverall and medicines.
The NGBF in a press release issued by its President Sahleem Konyak, General Secretary Shikuto Zalipu and Media Secretary Akhu Naga stated that the villages in Noklak and Kiphire districts bordering Myanmar “are very remote unreached of facilities.”
“Though every section of society has been going through with difficult times during this pandemic but for the rural areas, it is a different scenario due to lack of facilities in all sectors. So at this juncture, our Governor’s concerns for those people living in extreme corner of our country are worth appreciating,” the Federation stated.
Meanwhile, it also observed that there need to be a better understanding between medical department and common masses regarding vaccination drive and visiting hospital in case of COVID-19 infections. “For that proper and effective awareness campaign might be necessary,” NGBF suggested.
Further, the Federation has requested the authorities and various NGOs to “continue doing the good works for the needy till we overcome the situations.”
