Sex Ratio of Nagaland is 931 per 1000 as per Census 2011

Dimapur, January 5 (MExN): According 2011 Census of India, Nagaland’s population has reached approximately 19.81 Lakh an increase of -0.47 percent from the past decade. Nagaland feeds approximately 0.16% of India’s total population.

As per census report of Nagaland, of total population figures 1,980,602 male and female were 1,025,707 and 954,895 respectively. In 2001, Nagaland’s population was 1,990,036 approximately 19.90 Lakh.

Nagaland is one of the states or Union Territory of India having total area of 16,579 sq km. currently density per sq. km in Nagaland is 119 per Sq.km which stand above than national average density of India currently being at 382. If measurement is shifted from Kilometer to Mile, Nagaland’s total area becomes 6,401 Sq mi having density of approximately 309 per Sq mi.

As per preliminary report of Census 2011, Nagaland has literacy rate of 80.11 which is above national average of 74.04 percent. Total 1,357,579 people were found literate in Nagaland as per 2011 census report. In 2001, Nagaland had 66.59% literacy rate.

In literacy, of total 1,357,579 literate populations, 731,796 were male while remaining 625,783 forms female. In percentage, male were 83.29 percent literate while female were having 76.69 percent literacy. In 2001, male and female were having literacy rate of 76.04% and 56.87% respectively. Total literate in 2001 census were 1,132,323 of which male and female formed figure of 640,201 and 492,122 respectively for Nagaland.

With regards to Sex Ratio also known as Gender Ratio, Nagaland still lags behind. India’s average Gender Ratio increased to 940 from the past figure of 933. As of 2011, Nagaland’s Sex Ratio stands out at 931 which was at 909 in 2001 census.
