Signs of the last Days

For the Lord Himself will come down with a loud command, with he voice of the Arch angel and with the trumpet call of God., and the dead in Christ will  rise first. 1st Thessalonians 4:16
The events that are yet to come will be disastrous and destructive. When we look at the events of the world, we see that the nations and leaders of the world cries for peace, security and unity. The psychology of fear has gripped the major powers of the world. Every nation considers each other as a threat to each other. As the cold war continues, the great nations of the world seeks allies, that they can be secured from the threats of their enemies.  We see it happening and only the wicked will  live to experience the hardships that are yet to come.  If we are to compare the prophecies of the Word with the events of the world, we will find that the events of the world are happening according to the predictions of the Word.
When Christ comes, the dead in Christ will rise first, and then the living will also be lifted up in glory with them. This is the truth of God’s Word and we can be with God only if we obey the truth. The second coming of Christ is what the Church of Christ awaits and only the righteous shall be lifted up when He comes.
The scripture says “ Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, Peace and safety “, destruction will come on them suddenly, as labour pains of a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you brothers are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to darkness. So then let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self controlled. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us, so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing (1st Thessalonians 5:1-11 ). I concentrate more on the international news because of its significance with the signs of the end times. No one will be able to say that the Lord has come, for we shall be lifted up supernaturally without the knowledge of the sinners around us. The stand off between the two Koreas and its allies are to be treated with importance because chances are that the situation may worsen which may ultimately result in conflict between nations. The United Nations since its inception had been working hard in promoting peace among the nations of the world. Most of their ideologies are also in conformity with the ideals of the humanist and the new age movements. What we see now are the signs of all that are yet to come. We know that these days are hard and the end may come when we are least prepared. The children of darkness will still continue to sin but we the Church of Christ has to refrain from all that is bad, if we want to join the company of the saints in heaven. If the Lord comes while we are sinning or if He appears while we are drunk, we shall have to face the onslaught of the enemy when tribulation comes. We became members of the Church of Christ by grace and we should hold on to what is now ours, lest the enemy takes it away.
God’s love for us is revealed in the scripture and only the ones who are filled with the Holy Spirit will understand the significance of it. We were not chosen to receive His wrath, but if we prostitute ourselves with the world, the certainty is that we shall be condemned because of our unfaithfulness. God wants us to be saved and chances are given to us everyday that we may repent and turn to Him. All the signs which we are witnessing are the signs of warning and if we heed not the warnings, death and destruction shall ultimately destroy us.
The scripture says “Put to death, therefore whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed which is idolatry. Because of this the wrath of God is coming ( Colosians 3:5-6). Whatever is written in the scripture is for our own benefit and if we tend to ignore it, eternal life may never be ours. The signs of the last days are here: strengthen your faith and renew your life everyday as you await the second coming of the Lord. Be Prepared.
