Dimapur, September 18 (MExN): A national level technical webinar on ‘Sustainable Approach for Waste Management’ was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, St Joseph University (SJU) Dimapur on September 18.
A press release by SJU informed that resource person Dr S Kanmani, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore highlighted the current scenario of solid waste management (SWM) in India and the technology which is utilized to treat the wastes. She also explained the latest method of recycling, and current scenario of SWM in India. She added some more points about the sustainable approach and challenges faced in waste management. The resource person also provided some suggestions on reducing waste in the environment and making it eco friendly.
An interactive session was also held in which questions raised by the students were answered by the resource person. The webinar was attended by 101 participants.
