DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 2 (MExN): The Science Club of St. Joseph University successfully organised the 2nd Cognizance Fest under the theme “Exploring Nature’s Language through Science” at the university auditorium on Tuesday. The event brought together students, faculty and special guests for a day of innovation, creativity and academic engagement.
The inaugural session was presided over by Dr Lorenbeni Kikon, Chairperson of the fest. Prof Dr Gowri S.A. delivered the exhortation, while the welcome address was given by Mr Heilungraing Haiding, Public Relations Officer of the university. An invocation prayer was led by Rev Fr Dr L. Anish, followed by a welcome song by the Department of Biotechnology.
The Guest of Honour, Er Aghali A. Swu, Senior Environmental Engineer, Nagaland Pollution Control Board, highlighted the importance of scientific innovation in addressing environmental issues and encouraged students to apply their knowledge for sustainable development.

The day-long fest featured competitions and exhibitions, including painting, DIY projects, debates, singing, cosplay, and a science exhibition, providing students a platform to showcase their talents on and off stage.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Nurhebei and Nicky Tamang, followed by a benediction. The 2nd Cognizance Fest underscored St. Joseph University’s commitment to fostering curiosity, critical thinking and scientific temperament among students.
