Zunheboto, October 13 (MExN): The All Sümi Students’ Union (SKK) has expressed concern over the recent police recruitment advertisement issued on 30 September 2025, citing the exclusion of Sümi community villages in Mokokchung and Wokha districts.
In a statement, the SKK acknowledged the State Government and Police Department’s efforts in creating employment opportunities but criticised the district-wise allocation based on tribal ratio, which reportedly left out Sümi villages in the two districts.
Terming it a “deliberate exclusion and marginalisation” of Sümi community villages in the two districts, the union urged the State Government to redress this issue with utmost priority by including the Sümi villages in the recruitment for the two districts.
The SKK also endorsed concerns shared by the Chakroma Public Organisation and Western Sümi Hoho regarding separate allocations in Chümoukedima and Niuland districts to ensure fair tribal representation.
“We support and endorse their representation, emphasising the need for a fair and just allocation of opportunities for all communities,” it added.
