With the election round the corner, we have had many opinions, critisism and constructive ideas for the past many months from our wise minds in our own capacity. There were alot of debates and discussion on the govt. policies and its functioning which ultimately has even led to the tag called as "The confused nagas". Also many a times, we have misused and misunderstood the word leader. A leader is someone who leads his subjects and always stands with them through the darkest hour and best of times, and cares for his subjects above all. Sadly we had very less leaders in our political faternity yet there were some 'smart' politician whom we have considered as our leader for a long time and i feel the time has come, we appreciate that difference in the first place. Tracing back to history, we nagas are one unique group of people whose progress and advancement was never in a sequential manner but rather, i would say, geometric progression, right from the coming of education and religion to the present age of technology. In this way, the knowledge and skills that we acquired were never into its depth but rather superficial that the world presented to us. The perfect example of superficial knowledge is all the chaos and incidence that we are observing in this coming election campaign. It is very sad that we have failed even to understand the basics of politics. Many people are involved in politics full time lately but i wonder how many can say just the definition of politics. It is time i feel, we have some rational outlook and not blindly continue to believe in someone who says fighting, money, booth capture and betrayal is Politics. It is time, we take a step ahead and redefine politics in nagaland from all the myths that has poisoned our society for a very long time. Dear Nagas, if you feel our Nagaland and its people within is the most corrupted, please dont be. Our present society is just an outcome of our ignorance, manipulated by some few smart brains, by using the advantage of poverty and unproductivity. Guess what, together we can change this, together we shall overcome.
At present we nagas live in a time of "confused state" with our varied ideas and opinions. Referring back to history, there were two big revolutionary incidence that has shaped our society. First is the coming of modern education and recently the advent of technology world. This created three sections of people in our present society. Firstly, the old group who strongly believe and stay firm in our custom and traditions. Secondly there is that intermediate group, who had a taste of our time-honoured culture and ways, respect it to some extent but also enact and follows the modern ways and ideas. Finally we have that modern generation, usually called as the generation X or Y, who are totally into the modern ways and functioning thereby not realizing often that everything happens at a certain pace in a developing state. So in this hour of paradox and madness of varied ideas and imagination of our present society,the real question arises, what shall we do?whom shall we support?whom shall we cast our vote?where is the link to all this varied ideas and approaches? The answer is very simple, let us vote "LOVE" this time.
Your single touch of LOVE on that screen will depict the type of love you have for Nagaland. And only you and you alone will know it deep within youself. Is your Love for Nagaland, money and illegal opportunity that you look forward, to further take us back in time or is it a new ray of hope for a better tomorrow. Is your mind,narrow and selfish that your mentality hasn't crossed your village and constituency boundary or you look at the higher picture of our "Nagaland First". The decision lies within you.What if you were lucky enough to live a life of 100 years, what changes do you expect to see or what changes are you going to show to your children and grand children. The society and the environment that we give them will just be a reciprocation of our todays action and decision. Will you be proud or bow you head in shame and regret before them, it is upto your decision today. So in this election, let us elect real leaders and cast out the corrupted 'smart' politicians. Let us not wait but rather be the change. Let us rebuilt Nagaland like never before. Let us make our future bright with opportunities.Let us make our Nagaland a wonder where everyone of us can look back and proudly say "Yes,on that day, i was a part of the change".
