Zunheboto, May 19 (MExN): The Sümi Hoho has expressed concern over the continued attachment of Assistant Professors from Zunheboto Government College (ZGC) to other institutions across the state, amid a shortage of teaching staff at the college.
Zunheboto district has no government Science or Commerce colleges, and the lone Government Arts College is already overburdened with a large number of students and limited faculty, it pointed out in a representation to the Director, Directorate of Higher Education, Nagaland.
The ongoing depletion of its staff through attachment orders is unjustified and detrimental to the academic interests of students, it held.
The Sümi Hoho also pointed out that ZGC has been without a regular Principal for over a year, affecting administrative continuity and effective academic management.
Accordingly, it urged the DHE Director to revoke all existing attachment orders involving Assistant Professors from ZGC and to appoint a regular Principal without further delay.
These measures are vital to ensure that students in the district are not deprived of their right to quality higher education, it added
