SNAIL PACE NPSC

It’s been almost two years since the NPSC published its advertisement for the recruitment of Nagaland civil service 2010. Thousand of sincere aspirants took up the challenge to write the exam but to their utter dismay the exam was withheld due to the issue of enhancement of the reservation for the backward tribe. From here on the eager to write the exam has been an agonizing experience for all the hardworking candidates.Considering that many aspirants are nearing overage time limit the government should feel the pulse of these thousands of unemployed youth who have to look for the government job since there is not much alternative job left for them owing to our backwardness and underdevelopment in terms of industrial development and other prospects. After much delay the exam was conducted from the 24th may 2010 but again the NPSC is wasting the precious time by non declaration of results after almost three months. The aspirants are at lost to understand why the NPSC is taking so much time to check the simple MCQ format type answers which in fact can be done with the help of computer in a matter of days.
There is a genuine fear among the sincere aspirants that the more time the NPSC takes more corruption and foul play sets in, how can we forget the infamous 2008 NCS answer paper swapping scam and the poor record of NPSC as a corruption free institution. We request the State Vigilance Commission, Intelligence Bureau to play a more proactive role to check any such corruption in conducting elite exams of a state .More over the State Chief Secretary Lalthara very recently stated that there is a great shortage of NCS officers at the entry level .Now the question arises who is responsible for such shortage of NCS officers. Then NPSC with its present attitude with regard to functioning of duties is definitely not helping to tackle such issues and since NPSC is the sole department to conduct NCS and other allied exams, it should be partly held responsible for such delay in recruitment of NCS officers.
In the light of the above grievances and anomalies we request the NPSC to go for a course correction case with regard to its style of functioning and to declare the impending NCS mains 2010 results at the earliest so as not to delay and further agonize the candidates and also to clear the backlog for the upcoming exams.
We hope the NPSC will take this constructive criticism in good light and take necessary steps to address the concern of thousands of unemployed youth.
