Rev Rϋmatho Nyusou
Executive Secretary, Pochury Baptist Church Council
That uncle Vikugha is no more is a news that is being received by the people of Pochury with a feeling of disbelief and distraught. A friend and a father figure to the people of Pochury, Vikugha is a household name among our people even to this day, especially among the older generation. He was a true Naga nationalist who fought alongside his Pochury brothers during the height of Naga national movement. Advising, encouraging and admonishing his fellow Pochury comrades during his active years of public service, he has found a place in the hearts of the people among whom he lived and worked in our area. Even after he had returned over ground and joined mainstream national service in Nagaland Armed Police, until his retirement, Vikugha kept his relationship with his former brothers in arms alive through his frequent contact and occasional visits to their villages.
A man in uniform all his life, Vikugha had not forgotten that he was a soldier of Christ at heart. The Pochury Baptist Church Council shall bear in mind this fellow servant of God who went out of his way to sponsor missionaries, evangelists and pastors in Indo-Myanmar mission field, for the love of God and the people of his choice. Vikugha shall be remembered as a good human who loved the Lord and the people of Pochury as his own throughout his life.
At this sad moment, the people of Pochury share the pain and sorrow of uncle Vikugha’s family and his loved ones as they bid him their final farewell.  May the Almighty God, in whose bosom uncle Vikugha rests now, grant peace and solace to his bereaved family members. Long live the legacy of JP Vikugha! May his tribe increase!
