Dimapur, January 7 (MExN): Joint Director of Industry and Commerce, Kahuto Sumi graced the inaugural service of the 36th annual conference of Khaghaboto Area Students’ Union held at Lukuto village today as chief guest.
According to a press release received here, speaking on the occasion, chief guest said in this era of education, the society needs education reformation to build a position to bring about good change of progress and economic advancement in the society.
Stressing much on the need to progress ahead in life even after completion of studies, Kahuto asked the students gathered as to where would they stand after finishing their studies? He said just graduating out of college/university will give them job but they should pave way for themselves by sitting in competitive exams in order to hold a respectable position/job and contribute towards the uplift of the society.
Reiterating that life is not always easy, he encouraged the students to reaffirm themselves to achieve success through dedication and sincerity, as success is for those who work hard. Being a student leader is not the end but one should have aim in life and achieve it through wisdom and knowledge, he added. He also reminded the gathering that disunity is a parasite which derails the society from progress and development and therefore it is a moral responsible of the students to also endeavor to contribute towards the unity of the society.
The chief guest also urged the students to always love and respect their parents and to be righteous and humble in the eyes of God. On conclusion he also called upon the parents to teach their children how to work in order to develop work culture in them.
Khaghaboto students union presented indigenous music and Nepali community of Lukuto village presented Nepali folk dance. V. Kughato Aomi, advisor, KASU chaired the function, Mughato N. Awomi, president, KASU proposed vote of thanks and Zhetovi, pastor, Yehokhu Baptist Church pronounced the benediction. Z. Vihoshe Awomi, Chairman, Ad-hoc Town Council, East Dimapur would grace the valedictory session as guest of honour.
