Kohima | November 10 : Friends of Thailand, Nagaland and the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) supported by Government of Nagaland is all set to organize a solidarity concert for Thailand on November 16 in Kohima in aid of flood affected people of Thailand.
Additional chief secretary Alemtemshi Jamir while touching on the nature of the concert said the issue is quite big and there are many reasons for that. He said Naga people have to look beyond its own problems. Naga people got a lot of problems but the people also have to look outside and see how others are also suffering then its hearts and mind grow bigger.
Stating that Thailand is being look upon as the future partnership of the government, he said its friendly partner is Thailand. Jamir also added that Thailand is giving special attention Nagaland. Last year cultural troupe from Thailand performed at the various road shows in Nagaland.
NBCC general secretary Rev. Dr. L. Anjo Keikung said that the NBCC has strong partnership with Thailand. He said a team from Thailand will join the platinum jubilee of NBCC next year. He said that churches in Nagaland will also pray for the flood affected people and also the NBCC will initiate a relief from its own for the affected people of Thailand.
Theja Meru said the concert to be held at The Heritage, Old DC Bungalow at 5:00 pm on November 16 will witness various artistes like NBCC Choir, Neise Meruno and the Zowe Madrigal, Khyochano TCK Ngully, Naro Pienyu, Elizabeth Chang and Alobo Naga and band. Meru said the matter of flood affected people is concern for all of us. He said the solidarity concert is to show that the people of state are also care for the affected people.
The concert may not be of the large size but it is a big venture in itself to help the affected people, he said. Meru appealed to the people to join the concert and support the cause. Ticket for the concert is fixed at Rs. 500 (Admit two- complimentary buffet dinner). Ticket is now available at The Heritage- Old DC Bungalow and Smart Shop 108- Jail Colony. The event partners are Technopowerline, The Heritage and Life Pro.
