Dimapur, January 27 (MExN): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Nagaland has expressed support to the “common decision” of the Coordination Committee of Naga Civil Societies regarding the demand for “Solution before Election”. A press release from AAP Nagaland convenor Dr. S. Amos Lkr stated the party will take the issue to the streets of Delhi with the support of the Central AAP leadership. “We feel it is high time that Naga issue should be resolved at the earliest so that Nagas can see new dawn of horizon free from corruption and move with rest of the world with vigorous speed and tranquility,” it stated. AAP wished all concerned citizens to use their wisdom for the betterment of Naga society.
In a separate statement, JD (U) Nagaland asserted that it shall not stand against the wishes and aspiration of the people of Nagaland for an honourable solution. “In this regard, the JD (U) assures the people of Nagaland that it shall never be the first party to file nomination of its candidates but shall engage for rational dialogue with all other political parties for a unanimous and democratic approach,” said Convenor Senchumo (NSN) Lotha in the statement. It maintained that there is no reason why the JD (U) Nagaland should not emulate and support the Naga peace process. “However, when it comes to the issue of abstention from the forthcoming General Election, there should be unanimity amongst all political parties, both National and Regional. Electioneering is a democratic process and it has to be dealt in a democratic way,” the statement added.
