It is now a year and two months since the date of the incident in which Rs. 13 lakh went missing from Ukhrul Police RO’s office located within the Police HQ. Most of the people are aware that my father (SL Kapangkhui Shimrah) was murderously beaten on the pretext of interrogation for forced admission and false confession. The inhuman brutality resulted in damage to his kidneys, liver and other parts of his bodies where he faced several injuries and is still undergoing constant medical treatment.
We are also aware that several newspapers have alleged my father to be the real culprit of the lost money. But my father had given clarifications in his rejoinders about his innocence in the case. It is however shocking, that Ukhrul district police could not detect anything in this inspite of more than one year having passed. It is common knowledge now, in Ukhrul town, as to the real culprit/culprits is/are and also whether the money was actually stolen from the strong room on that fateful night or from somewhere else. This can only be known when expert investigators take the case because every police personal of Ukhrul District knows A to Z of the incident. But investigating agencies are weak and unable to break through, failing to find out the truthfulness of the case. However, it is strongly suspected that High authority is hindering and putting a bar in the progress of the investigation of the case, otherwise the well known open secret case might have easily detected long before without any problem for such a petty theft case. The PHQ., instead of detecting the case and supervising the investigating agencies is, instead harassing my father, by attatching him at Imphal West District Reserve Office, forcing him to mark daily attendance in a separate register maintained by the RI/IW Office, in violation to ChapterIII (15) CCS(CCA) Act 1965.
Now we are compelleld to appeal to any well known NGO or any organization of standing who are capable of detecting such important and heinous cases in and around the state and on whom public rely with full confidence that they are the agencies who can be depended upon for such a serious/grievous cases.
