Soulhouse Academy, Mokokchung, hosted its cultural day celebration on August 1, under the theme ‘Unity Through Diversity.’
Held at the school premises, the event was spearheaded by the EVS and SST departments and showcased a mix of indigenous games, cultural expressions, and traditional practices.
The day’s programme was conducted in two sessions. The first session featured a series of performances highlighting the cultural and artistic talents of the students. Notable highlights included solo vocal renditions, a thematic presentation titled Power of Cultural Harmony by Khunendong, and an enactment titled Narekele Mo—a “Warrior Cry” performed by the boys of Grades 2 to 4.
The second session transitioned into an interactive showcase of traditional skills and indigenous games. Students participated in traditional practices such as husk sieving, yarn spinning, bamboo strip making, and catapult crafting. It continued with traditional games competitions, including bamboo pole climbing, bamboo stilt walking, cock fighting, and tug of war.
