The Soyim Students’ Union Mokokchung Unit celebrated its golden jubilee on December 21 with Tongpang Ozukum, Minister, PWD, Government of Nagaland as the special guest at the event.
With the theme 'Temaleni' the Soyim Student's Union golden jubilee speaker Dr. Temjensosang Imsong, Associate professor, Department of Sociology, Nagaland University talked about qualitative growth and progress of individual and society while referring to Auguste Comte's theory of the law of three stages.
He also said that education is very important for the growth of society and without it there will be no qualitative growth.
Tongpang Ozukum in his speech encouraged the students to work hard and stand together for positive growth. He also said that there are many groups and organisations in our society but most of the groups have selfish interests which do not help in positive growth.
NSF, General Secretary, Imtiyapang, a former president of Soyim Student's Union also spoke on the occasion where he talked about self sustenance and how youth can curb the problem of unemployment.
Short speeches were also given by president Ungma Union Mokokchung and Soyim Student's Union, Ungma.
Around 400 student members of Soyim Student's Union attended the golden jubilee celebration.
