Spear Corps flags in the national integration tour for Oting residents

MON, FEBRUARY 14 (MExN): The Assam Rifles successfully conducted a 12-day National Integration Tour for 20 residents from Oting village. As part of the tour, the participants visited Jorhat, Kaziranga, Delhi and Agra and experienced the diversity, rich history and culture of India. The tour was flagged in by Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps at Rangapahar Military Station on February 14.

The uniqueness of the tour was the diverse age group of the participants, with the oldest being 73 year and the youngest being 22 years. At Jorhat, the participants witnessed the state-of-the-art aircrafts held by Indian Air Force and were thrilled to ride in a safari and witness the fauna in their natural habitat.

At Delhi and Agra, the participants experience d the rich cultural heritage of the country, where in they visited monuments like Qutub Minar, Jantar Mantar, Chandni Chowk, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, etc. Whilst in Delhi, the participants also visited the National War memorial, the New Parliament building and experienced travel in the Delhi metro.

The GOC 3 Corps while interacting with them emphasized on importance of this opportunity and highlighted the significance of such initiatives in nurturing their minds and broadening their perspectives.
