Special vaccination drive in Longleng

Longleng, June 24 (MExN): A special vaccination drive for shopkeepers and helpers, drivers, potters and their family members was organised by the Medical Department, Longleng in collaboration with District Task Force (DTF) at the public ground on June 24. According to a DIPR report, 327 persons were vaccinated during the drive.

Earlier, speaking at the launching programme, DC Longleng and chairman DTF, M Shayung Phom highlighted encouraged the medical department to organize more such programmes in the district and said that the public are willing to cooperate.

The DC also requested the medical department to compile information regarding COVID-19 and vaccination in bulletin or voice message and spread through social media for public under Longleng district. He suggested that “one voice message through WhatsApp reaches many individuals instantly likewise we can use social media platform to reach the public effectively and quickly.”

SP Longleng, Yanithung in his short speech urged the public to remove myths and fear regarding COVID-19 and appealed to get vaccination which will stop the spread of the virus and also give more access to different opportunities. 

CMO Longleng, Dr Obangjungla in her welcome address said that the special vaccination drive is especially organized to encourage people who are not yet vaccinated. Concerning the health of every public, this special drive is organized, she added.

Keynote address was delivered by Dr S Imnameren, DIO Longleng while Chamber of Commerce, Longleng and Drivers’ Union Longleng presidents also spoke at the programme.
