Dimapur, August 20 (MExN): The Election Department of Nagaland would be setting up special Designated Photography Locations (or DPLs) in all district headquarters fro August 23 till the 30th to enable genuine voters who missed out on the earlier voters’ photograph drive.
Chief Electoral Officer J Alam, IAS, informed today to have received information about voters who could not avail of the “opportunity to get themselves photographed” during the campaign. To ensure that no genuine registered voter “remains unphotographed” the department has decided to set up DPLs in all district header quarters for the stated period of time. The DPL would be located in the office premises of the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer in all the districts. Also, a special DPL is to be set up in the state Civil Secretariat in Kohima.
“All the government officers are requested to let their employees and other voters in their family to visit the designated photography locations. Alternatively, the left-out voters may submit two recent passport size photographs along with form 001A duly filled to the DEO and ERO of the concerned district,” the CEO said.
All registered voters who got left out during the earlier photography campaign are requested to avail this last opportunity and get themselves photographs at the state DPLs. In case they wish to submit photographs, they should be accompanied by filled-in form 001A, the CEO’s office said. The necessary forms can also be downloaded from the website: ceonagaland.nic.in. The forms would be available with the DPLs as well.
“Those genuine voters whose names are missing fro the current electoral rolls will get an opportunity to register themselves during the special summery revision of electoral rolls that will be lunched from October 1, 2011. Separate elaborate arrangements are being made to enlist the help of educational institutions, students’ bodies, civil societies and other public authorities to enroll all the genuine and eligible voters during the forthcoming special revision,” the CEO said.
