St John College conducts programme on 'Research Methodology for Social Sciences'

The Department of Sociology St. John College Dimapur (SJCD) conducted a seminar-cum-workshop on ‘Research Methodology for Social Sciences’ on August 30, in its Conference Hall. 


A press release issued by the college stated that Lamkhotinthang Chongloi (HoD), delivered the keynote address. Professor S T Janetius, Principal St. John College and Dr Sita Malakar Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology presented the papers on ‘Research Made Easy’ and ‘Steps of Research Methodology’.


It also stated that the main objectives of the seminar-cum-workshop were to orient and make practical use of different research methods while carrying out research in coming days. “Student’s participation through training on writing research proposals, preparation and group presentation also enriched the programme,” it added.


A total of 41 Sociology Honours students, 3 Lecturers, Principal and students from other social science departments attended the programme. Certificates were also given to all the participants at the end of the programme.
