Jakhama, April 18 (MExN): St Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, hosted the 8th Inter-Collegiate Political Science (Pol) Expo on April 18 under the theme “Echoes of Intellect”, bringing together students, academicians and invited guests for a focused engagement with contemporary political thought and practice.

The keynote address by chief guest, R Lungleng, political commentator and host of The Lungleng Show, formed the intellectual core of the event. In his speech, Lungleng characterised politics as “a game of manipulation and numbers,” underscoring the strategic calculus that underpins political processes. He cautioned that without effective and accountable implementation, political ideas risk remaining confined to theoretical constructs.

Further, he examined the interplay between politics and media in shaping public perception, highlighting the growing significance of narrative-building in democratic systems. Stressing the role of youth, he urged students to move beyond passive theoretical engagement and participate actively in governance, policy discourse, and informed citizenship. His address, marked by analytical depth and contemporary relevance, stood out as the defining moment of the Expo.

The programme features activities such as essay writing, extempore, debate, and Polasso got talent, followed by prize distribution.
