Stage set for 31st Chozuba range wrestling meet at Chouba town.

The Chozuba Range Wrestling Association (CRWA) under the aegis of the Chakhesang Wrestling Association will be holding its 31st meet 2026 on January 21 at Chozuba Town Local Ground.
44 wrestlers will vie for coveted champion title under Senior category and 18 wrestlers for Under 15 category.
Prominent wrestlers for senior category includes; Venu Vadeo, Rukukhoto Khusoh, Sasuyi Nyekha, Mulusu Veswu, Kuneshoyi Zuo, Khrukuzo Nyekha and Muleciyi Vadeo.
MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will be the special guest while Sanuzo Nienu, Director, Department of Agriculture, Govt of Nagaland will be the guest of honour.
The inaugural programme will start from 9:00 AM onwards.
The programme will be chaired by CRWA vice president Khokuto Sapu while CRWA president Sevonyi Keyho will deliver presidential address.
CRWA technical secretary Vetazo Veswii will administer oath to the wrestlers.
In senior category, the champion will get a cash prize of Rs. 1.10 lakh sponsored by CRWA with Rs. 5000 by Khwiithayi Khiisoh, national wrestler and former champion CRWA, CWA.
The 2nd prize at Rs. 80,000 will be sponsored by Pothita Vamuzo, entrepreneur.
The 3rd position holder will get Rs. 60,000, sponsored by Er. Lhiivoyi Veswiih, Executive Engineer (Electrical) Dimapur division.
The 4th position will pocket Rs. 40,000, sponsored by Er. Cekhwiilhii Nakro, Sub Divisional Engineer, BSNL Phek.
In Under 15 category, the 1st , 2nd, 3rd and 4th position holder will get Rs. 30,000, Rs. 20,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively, sponsored by Vekuyi Dozo, ex-VCC, Thiivopisii.
The certificate and programme print will be sponsored by Sevoyi Swuro, President, VDB Union, RD Block Sekruzu.
Riiyosiiyi Khiisoh, Additional Director, Department of School Education, Govt. of Nagaland will be the chief patron. Other patrons includes; Veta Nienu, Asst. Prof & HoD, Department of Physics, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, Kiiduve Keyho, PS to advisor CAWD & Taxes, Pukrozo Keyho, Senior Geologist, Geological Survey of India, Zhosa Sapu, District Cultural Officer Phek, Riikuvoyi Keyho, Assistant Superintendent, Department of Land Resources, Miiliisayi Rhakho, Sub Inspector CISF, Kiivesevo Tetseo, Graduate Teacher, GHS Thiivopisii, Vekuto Ringa, President RNYA and Vekuzo Swiiro, Proprietor, Tech Node Pfiitsero.
Lhiivenii Phesao will be the chief referee.
The meet will be hosted by Yoriiba Baptist Church and Chozubami Women Society.
