Kohima, July 16 (DIPR): The Nagaland State Blood Transfusion Council Governing Body meeting was held on July 16 at conference hall, Health & Family Welfare Department New Secretariat Complex, Kohima. The committee discussed the following agendas: confirmation of minutes of the annual governing body meeting held on June 16, 2010; Achievement of 2010 and 2011; target for 2011-2012 for district wise; formation of Voluntary Blood Donors Association; enhancement of staff salary; approval of audited statement of accounts for the financial year 2010-2011 and annual action plan 2011 to 2012.
In the meeting, VBD Consultant, Ali Poker presented a power point presentation on overview of blood safety and voluntary blood donation activities for 2006-2011 (till June), blood collection status for 2006-2011, objective to strengthen the blood donation through human resource development by way of camps and to take adequate regulatory and legislative steps for monitoring and evaluation of blood transfusion services and to take steps to eliminate profiteering through blood banks.
He also presented activities to promote VBD awareness campaign in schools, colleges, Government departments, churches etc. The Project Director NSACS, NL Changkija delivered the welcome address and chaired the meeting.
