State civil servants want enhancement of age limit for recruitment

KOHIMA: The Nagaland Civil Service Association (NCSA) today suggested that the upper age limit for recruitment be enhanced from the present 30 years to 33 years, which, it said will also bring relief to the educated unemployed youth who are over aged as per present context.”

“The reason being that the officers/employees at the age of 57 years are still strong and robust who can continue to contribute much more to the development of the state,” said the Association president K. Nzimongo Ngullie on the occasion of its 33rd general conference held here this morning with Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio as the chief guest.

The Association also supported the demand of the CANSSEA for enhancement of the retirement age from present 57 year to 60 years keeping in line with All India Standard which is 60 years barring few states which is 59 years.

In the meantime, the president said as a paid government servant, we (NCS officers) are expected to obey to all the government orders including , transfer and posting which is prerogative of the state government.

In this respect, he appealed to the officers not to lobby for any choice of posting, but serve well wherever they are posted.

Earlier, Nagaland chief secretary P. Talitemjen Ao said the even though the infrastructures may not be 100 per cent accurate “but a lot of things have been improved in the last 42 years in term of pay, connectivity, communication etc.”

He called upon the officers to develop a sense of responsibility, dedication and sincerity and serve the people better.

Additional chief secretary TN Mannen in his speech asked the officers to implement the government policies and programme in an effective manner.

Your sincere input is very vital, he said adding that proper dissemination of the government programmes will determine the image of the government.
