KOHIMA, JUNE 29 (DIPR): The State Election Commission has notified that a Coordination Committee should be constituted for the Bye-Election purposes comprising representative of all Political Parties, District Official and Police Officers in the District.
All Deputy Commissioners are requested to immediately issue instruction for constitution of coordination committee comprising of representatives of all political parties, GBs of the ward if applicable to local conditions, district officials and Police officials to enlist the co-operation of the political parties for actual conduct of elections. Minutes of the meeting may also be prepared and kept for record.
Necessary instructions may be issued by the Deputy Commissioners to hold regular meeting with the representatives of the political parties and also the contesting candidates to sort out any problem that may be faced by them in the conduct of election. The meeting of the above committees may be held as many times as possible and at least twice before the actual poll. A report to the effect of such meetings being held regularly may be sent to the State Election Commissioner by concern officers.
