State Excise pledges against illicit traffickers and smugglers

Dimapur, June 30 (MExN): The Commissioner of Excise and all rank and file of State Excise department commemorated the ‘International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’ on the theme ‘share facts on drugs, save lives’ in the Excise Directorate, Dimapur on June 26. 

The main highlight of the programme was declaration of pledge against illicit traffickers and smugglers and distribution of Commissioner’s Commendation Certificate to 16 field officer and personnel. 

Speaking in the function, Hotolu Swu, Commissioner of Excise & Prohibition exhorted the officers and field staff reminding them of their duties and responsibilities as an enforcing agency and congratulated all the awardees and urged to keep up the good work.

Kevisetuo Angami, Additional Commissioner of Excise spoke on the significance of the day. A brief report on drug seizure was given by P Koi Khiamniungan, Superintendent of Excise (NC). The invocation was said by T Arilong longkumer, Superintendent of Excise (Dimapur). The programme was chaired by Osenrhoni Kikon, Inspector of Excise (NC).
