Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): The Department of Food and Civil Supplies Nagaland is carrying out an intensive verification of BPL beneficiaries with the assistance of district administration/GBs/and Village Council.
A notification issued by the Director of F&CS, Zenietuo in this connection has directed all concerned authorities to note that that the really poor and vulnerable section of the society are entitled to avail the
said schemes.
Those that come under this purview are landless agricultural labourers, marginal farmers, rural artisan/craftsmen such as potters, tappers, weavers, blacksmiths, carpenters etc in rural areas and slum dwellers and persons earning their livelihood on a daily basis in the informal sector like porter, coolies, rickshaw-pullers, hand-cart pullers, vegetable, fruit and flower sellers in the urban areas are entitled to avail the
said scheme.
It is also notified that Government Servants are outside the purview of BPL entitlement. All the responsible authorities are directed to strictly follow the GOI guidelines, so as to give the benefit to the genuine deserving beneficiaries.
