Dimapur, June 16 (MExN): The 14-day State Handloom Expo held at Urbaan Haat, Dimapur was inaugurated by MLA Azheto Zhimomi in the presence of Zakabo V Rotokha, Managing Director NHHDC Ltd and other officials on June 16.
The expo, organized by the Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation and sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handloom) Ministry of Textiles, will be held for 14 continuous days from June 16 to 29.
Altogether there are 60 participants exhibiting various goods and products. A total of 18 participants are from outside the State viz. Assam, Manipur, West Bengal, Jarkhand, Delhi and 42 participants are from the various districts of Nagaland.
“The main aim and objective of the exhibition is to develop and promote marketing channels in domestic and export markets and bring about linkage between the two in a holistic and integrated manner. It is also serve to provide marketing opportunities to handloom workers with special focus on talented and uncovered weavers,” Zakabo V Rotokha, Managing Director, NHHDC Ltd stated in a press release.
