“Never hesitate to participate in competitions, when opportunity comes your way. It adds to your educational and learning experience,” she said. She also told the participants to continue to aspire and strive for excellence.

She said that NBSE has maintained a consistent reputation of integrity and professionalism in the conduct of various examinations throughout its years of existence.

“The Board has also always kept up with technology and has maintained transparency in its operations - the introduction of the use of the hologram 'app' to check the nuisance of fake certificates, so many years back, was an initiative that I remember and appreciated,” she said.

She also commended the private schools for their continued contribution towards the development and improvement of education in the state.

The collaboration between the NBSE and the ANPSA in organizing today's event demonstrates this existing co-ordination and common commitment to work for the betterment of education for our children, she said and hoped that the bond will remain strong and grow even stronger in the face of the increasing challenges impacting education.

Asano Sekhose, chairperson  NBSE said “This singing  competition is a part of the celebration of NBSE Golden Jubilee, but it also aligns with the NEP 2020 objective of developing creativity in the children in the area such as art, education, music and other art forms.”

“Music is a part of our culture and tradition:-we have songs and music for every occasion. We sing not only during festivals but also while working in the fields, while carrying home the harvest, while husking, while pulling stone monuments, and in almost every aspect of our lives. Music is deep rooted in our folklores. Our tales of peace and war, love and betrayal, heroism and courage, poverty and prosperity are all infused with music, Sekhose said.

ANPSA (Central) president, Nini Sekhose congratulated the NBSE attaining 50 years of excellence and service in the field of education.

“We take this opportunity to honor the incredible journey of the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE). Your dedication and tireless efforts have laid a strong foundation for educational growth and development in the state, shaping the lives of countless students and educators over the years,” she said.
