State logs 49 new COVID cases, 62 recoveries

A total of 49 samples out of 2,423 tested positive for COVID-19 in Nagaland on August 25, indicating a sample positivity rate of 2.02%.

According to the daily bulletin, Dimapur and Mokokchung reported the highest number of fresh positives on Wednesday with 24 and 11 cases respectively. Kohima accounted for 9 new cases and Longleng has 2 new cases while Wokha, Mon and Zunheboto had one case each.

With the new cases, the State’s caseload increased to 29,718.

Meanwhile, 62 new recoveries on August 25 took the State’s recovery tally to 27,373.

The recoveries were reported from Dimapur (37), Kohima (12), Mokokchung (5), Kiphire (3) and Mon (5).

The death toll in the State increased to 598 after one COVID-19 death was reported from Peren in the past 24 hours. Further, 14 more deaths have been categorized as nor-COVID related in the bulletin.

There are 871 active COVID-19 cases in the State at present, out of which, 65 are admitted in COVID hospitals and 653 are under home isolation.
