State logs 92 more COVID-19 cases, daily positivity rate at 6.02%

Dimapur, July 23 (MExN): Nagaland reported 92 new COVID-19 cases on Friday out of 1528 samples tested, indicating a daily positivity rate of 6.02%. The new cases were reported from Dimapur, Kiphire, Kohima, Mokokchung, Mon, Peren, Phek, Tuensang and Wokha, and the total caseload of the State increased to 27,116. As per the daily bulletin issued by the State Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, a total of 53 cases were detected during self tests and random tests, 23 from traced contacts, 10 from armed forces/ security personnel, 4 from front line workers and 2 from returnees/travellers.

The COVID death toll in the State as on July 23 was 523 with one fatality reported in the last 24 hours. Besides the COVID-19 related deaths, a total of 14 deaths were categorised as ‘not COVID-19 related’ in the IDSP bulletin. Meanwhile, 77 patients who had previously tested positive for the virus recovered on Friday, taking the number of recovered cases to 24,571. With this, the active case count in the State is 1251 at present.
