Progress and changes are undeniable needs of life be it political, economic or social. Human beings by nature necessarily strive for progress, good life, equality, justice and dignified livings. We as human beings deserved dignified livings, an ideal life embedded with maximum possible benefit of good life. As the year come to an end, we curiously look back on the degree of progress that took place during those period of time.  On having a glimpse at our present condition evil ridden with inequality, corruption, discrimination and daylight robberies, the condition were worst. In fact many of our naturally deserved rights, privileges and needs are denied. Our state system is muddle up in improper planning and poor infrastructure amenities. We could describe our present scenario as the state of near anarchism with our governmental system going mayhem in failing to provide enough of our basic rights and needs.  How then can we even think about great progress and development which we dream about and which we have witness in other parts of the country? We can’t consider tiny development discriminately in few areas as real progress. This fraud deplorable form of development could be described to the degree of inflicting human miseries, a denial of the most basic human rights. Blinded and deceive by corrupt practices and persistence stagnation of development, we are made to lose sight of the glorious and wondrous progress and development that the outside world and civilization have experienced and which we also could experience.  Many are instead living in a deplorable condition because of evil experiences in our political process. It could be described in term of what Marxist perceives the condition of the oppressed as ‘wretch, misery and poor’.

Why is this devastating situation prevailing in our state? Nature promises abundant life and calls for self-sufficient and content life. Why then is our state in the condition of desolation. Aren’t we made of ourselves this tragic condition? Is it not the failure of government mechanism and political system? Isn’t the immature policy of the government to be blame? We deprive ourselves of what we rightfully and justly deserve. The government is not for the people who rules or represent. It is for the people who formed the government through the peoples consent and contract. People are clear about the rampant corruption in our governmental system, funds being wrongly utilized and governmental work being made to break down.  We are being blinded of glorious progress that the world is providing. Good and modernize road and buildings, proper electricity, water, well planned city and town could be brought about without much strain. We could make ourselves a place, a town where everyone could feel home anywhere in the state. Why are we then drifted away from these possible realities? Dream of highly developed town planning equipped with sophisticated technology, proper network, smooth transport system, educational avenues, employment opportunities, big business enterprises, advanced health care, efficient administrating system etc. and all sort of development that one could think of. All these could become a reality but only if we dare to make a great leap of change from this devastation situation to practical strong progress. Many still could not get access to decent education and basic facilities. It’s time that the far cry of the remotest part of our society is heard.  As New Year is here with many new events waiting and challenges standing before us, each one of us as a part of progress ought to make retrospection in our governmental system and our political practices which are the main factor influencing the affairs of our state. May we experience true peace and real development this year.
