State police pay tributes to ABSI

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 30 (MExN): Funeral service of ABSI Moayanger Ao (3rd NAP) who died on January 29 at New Delhi was held at his residence in Chumukedima on Monday. His body was flown to Dimapur and received by the police and family members. 

During the funeral service, deputy commandant 3rd NAP, V. Kezo said that Late ABSI Moayanger achieved All Round Best and an award in Musketry during training at Deorgaon, Assam. He described the late ABSI as an officer who was willing to take up any responsibility. He said it would be difficult to fill the vaccum created in the battalion at the demise of the ABSI. According to Kezo, the doctors said that ABSI Moayanger died of cardiac arrest on January 29.

IGP Range Dimapur, PF Zeliang said that the demise of ABSI Moayanger was a “big loss” to the police department and Nagaland government. He also read out a condolence message from the DGP, O. Alem who conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Family members, Chumukedima Ao Union, Chumukedima Ao Students’ Union, Mangmetong Union and friends spoke during the funeral service. The speakers described Late ABSI Moayanger as a person who took active part during his student days. He was also the president of Post Graduate Ao Students’ Union Kohima, Nagaland University during 2006-2007. 

After the funeral service, Late ABSI Moayanger was given guard of honour by the police firing 21 rounds of gunshot before the burial at Chumukedima.
