Dimapur, December 29 (MExN): The Sumi Totimi Hoho (STH) today condemned what it called a “personal attack” on the Sumi Hoho Vice President Kitoho Rotokha by NSCN Khaplang. In a press note issued by President Kitoli Naje, she said “The decision was made by all the Sumi Frontal Organisation because of violations of Cease fire Ground Rules by different factions which had caused insecurity and tension to the denizens of Zunheboto and the surrounding villages.”
The STH urged “the NSCN to immediately withdraw their statement” against the Sumi Hoho vice president and “to realize that any statement made by any member of an organization is just a representative and not just his/her personal thought.” It further said that “The release made is an anti- democratic view where the very basic right of speech is being threatened.” The STH further urged “all the right thinking citizens to condemn such threats and enable people to speak and act in a way where we all enjoy our rights and to fulfill our duty as responsible citizens of Nagaland.”
The All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) also condemned the NSCN Khaplang statement against Sumi Hoho Vice President Kitoho Rotokha asking him to resign from the post. SKK President Nihoyi Kinnimi stated in a press note that “a leader working in the general interest of the public should not be misconstrued as working for certain faction or group.” “Whatever decision that the Sumi Hoho takes is a collective decision and not decided by one person or office bearer alone. Since it’s a collective decision taken in the interest of the larger public, any faction or group should desist from targeting a particular office bearer,” the SKK stated. The SKK has further demanded the NSCN Khaplang to immediately withdraw the statement against Sumi Hoho vice president.
