CEO Nagaland directs MD, NHHDC to stop disbursement of loan to selected beneficiary
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 2 (MExN): CEO, Nagaland, J. Alam, IAS has directed the Managing Director, Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. to immediately stop disbursement of Loan to selected beneficiary under the Year of Entrepreneur 2010 in various districts, which prima facie is a violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
In a letter addressed to the MD, NHHDC Ltd. today, 2nd February 2013, J. Alam has directed the MD to immediately stop disbursement of the said loan as advertised vide NO.NHHDC/Sty-2/9 (pt. I) dated 30th January 2013, until the election process is over.
Directives to check baggage of VIPs at helipads and motorcades of Z+ protectees
The Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland J. Alam, IAS has written to the Deputy Commissioners and District Election Officers of all the districts in Nagaland with regard to Checking of Baggage of VIPs at Helipads and Motorcades of Z+ protectees in an order dated 31st January 2013.
Drawing attention to para 4.8 of the Instructions on Election Expenditure Monitoring (July 2012), the CEO Nagaland has directed the DC & DEOs to enforce the said instructions strictly and noted that the baggage of all the passengers irrespective of the rank and status is to be checked specially at non-commercial helipads. In this regard, Static surveillance team or flying squad team may be positioned at the helipads in advance, whenever such movement is scheduled the order stated.
It further informed that while physical frisking of the Z+ protectee is not to be carried out, the baggage of such protectees can be subjected to checking whenever and wherever MVCP checks or static surveillance team checking is underway.
Ban on movement of biker groups in large numbers
With reports brought to the notice of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, regarding movement of biker groups in large numbers in the towns specially at night creating nuisance for the general public, CEO Nagaland, J. Alam, IAS has written to the Deputy Commissioner & DEOs of all the districts in Nagaland to ban movement of such bikers with more than 3 or 5 bikes together in a group and to give instructions to the Police to strictly enforce the ban. This was stated in an order issued on 31st January 2013.
With reports of new vehicles and or motor bikes being procured and distributed to certain voters as enticement/bribery, CEO Nagaland has in a separate order Dated Kohima, the 31st January 2013, directed the Deputy Commissioners & DEOs to conduct a check of such instances and to take necessary action to requisition/seize vehicles wherever they are found to be in excess of the quota fixed for candidates or are without vehicle permit for use during Election.
