Members of Strike-Fit Academy Nagaland along with their trophy, medals, and certificates after finishing as overall runners-up at the National Club Championship in Agartala, Tripura.
Dimapur, August 30 (MExN): Strike-Fit Academy Nagaland secured 14 medals and finished overall runners-up at the National Club Championship in Muaythai, K-1 and Boxing held at NSRCC Stadium, Agartala, Tripura. The Nagaland academy’s all-male contingent won 10 gold, three silver and one bronze medal at the championship, held from August 26 to 30 and organised by CDS Foundation in collaboration with the All Tripura Muaythai Association.
Pikato V. Awomi was adjudged the Best Fighter of the Championship after winning gold in the 54 kg Male Muaythai category. In Muaythai, gold medals were won by Aputo (48 kg), Pikato V. Awomi (54 kg), Wapang Ao (48 kg), Emtiramok Amri (63.5 kg) and Phongmei Phom (67 kg). Ikamu Achumi won silver in the U-16 45 kg category.
In K-1, Thronghokiu won gold in the U-16 45 kg category, while Abhijit Das (52 kg) and Huka Ayemi (54 kg) also secured gold. Ravi Kumar (60 kg) and Dilsan Mehra (71 kg) won silver medals. In boxing, Thungchanthung R Ezung won gold in the 57 kg category and Wonchithung T Kithan secured gold in the 63 kg category. Alexander Phaomei won bronze in the U-16 57 kg category.
The Strike-Fit Academy team was led by coach Aboto Ayemi, with Moakumzük Longchar serving as team manager-cum-referee and judge. Hemavi Ayemi is the director of Strike-Fit Academy. The academy attributed the performance to the athletes’ consistent training, discipline and dedication, as well as the collective efforts of the coaching and support team.
