Dimapur, May 30 (MExN): Scams and more scams continue to besiege the government of Nagaland: A students’ organization today reiterated an allegation that corrupt appointment of BDO/APO/RDOs are going on in the Rural Development department. Angry that the department has still not responded, the All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) has asked for an official response explaining why the Nagaland Rural Development Service Rules -2006 under Schedule-II 6(b) was not complied with, by the government.
The SKK has reiterated its allegation concerning filling up BDO/APO/RDO posts through ‘backdoor appointment’ as stated to the authorities earlier. The SKK issued a copy of a memorandum to the Media here addressed to the Director of Rural Development.
The organization stated – “Whereas 75% of the vacant posts for BDO/APO/RDO is supposed to be filled by direct recruitment through NPSC according to the method of recruitment specified in the Nagaland Rural Development Service Rules -2006 under Schedule-II 6 (b), it is proved beyond doubt through documentary evidence that for more than a decade, vacancies for the aforementioned posts has been filling up through backdoor appointment without routing through NPSC which clearly speaks of the violation of the established rules whereby, denying host of competent candidates to compete for the posts.”
The SKK expressed resentment that its three demands are yet to receive any official response.
“Now therefore, In the interest of the students’ community in general and the vast pool of well-qualified Nagas who are eagerly yearning for the opportunity to compete for job via fair and procedural means, the SKK seek press justification from your good office as to why method of recruitment specified in the Nagaland Rural Development Service Rules -2006 under Schedule-II 6(b) could not be adhered.’
