Dimapur, July 7 (MExN): The forty years old bridge near the Sainik School main gate connecting Medziphema and Jalukie collapsed recently leading to severe disruption to road traffic causing administrative and logistical hardship to the affected villages and the school.
A temporary bridge and diversion on the main road were created to enable passage of at least light vehicles. The staffers and students of Sainik School in Punglwa undertook what the institution said repair works on the temporary bridge and road.
A contractor, unnamed, also committed to reinforce the temporary bridge and rebuild the damaged bridge by Christmas, the institution informed today.
