Dimapur, January 23 (MExN): The Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) has condemned the factional shootout on January 21 at Agri-Forest Colony, Kohima where Tovi Phucho, a 5th semester LLB student of City Law College, Dimapur was shot and critically wounded. While condemning the ill fated incident the NLSF in a press note issued by its president K. Heroto Chishi and general secretary Khyoyhung H. called upon all warring nationalist group to cease hostilities and follow the call of every Naga for peace of our land. The students have appealed that the factional killings be stopped and the futility of senseless killings should be realized by one and all. “Our history is a story smeared with innocent blood and misery and even after ages and ages, we Nagas are still to comprehend within ourselves and we lack the boldness to forge a common goal of constructive Nationalism which needs intensive introspection,” the note added.
Further, the Federation has conveyed sympathy to the injured student ad his family and wish him speedy recovery.
Meanwhile, the City Law College Students’ Union, Dimapu (CLCSUD has also condemned the firing incident at Agri-Forest colony Kohima, where Tovi Phucho a bonafide student of City Law College Dimapur was grievously injured by the armed cadres, on his way back home from the market. CLCSUD, President, Vilito Sema and General Secretary, Hotoka Zhimo in a joint press statement has appealed to the armed cadres not to attack the innocent student in their struggle for freedom and whatever may be the reason behind their enemity, the innocent students should not be targeted as ‘we have nothing to do with their enemity.’ The Union has made request to the National Worker to restrain themselves from targeting the innocent students and to stop putting the life of an innocent student at stake, as it is not going to benefit them from any angle in their struggle for sovereignty.
