Dimapur, December 28 (MExN): The 23rd annual conference of Ato Area Kiphimi Kuqhakulu begin this morning at Khehoyi village with Azheto Zhimomi, MLA & Advisor, Sericulture and Co-operation gracing the inaugural function as chief guest.
Addressing the gathering of students, chief guest addressed them as stake holders of tomorrow and reminded them that they have a great role to play, as youths, towards the well being of the society and to do so each one of them should be better equipped to face the challenges of ever challenging and competitive world.
Stating that education is the only way through which we could equip themselves to bring about good changes to the society and progress in personal life as well, he urged up on the students give priority to education and pursue their educational career with utmost humbleness, sincerity and dedication.
He further reminded the students to remember the hardships their parents bear to give proper education so that they could become successful individuals in the days to come. He also pointed out the fact the Western Sumi has easy access to maximum facilities as compared to other parts of the state, which the youth/students can make best use of those to excel especially in the field of education.
Earlier, chief guest unfurled the union flag to officially kick start the 3-day conference.
He donated a sum of Rs. 50,000 each towards the welfare of the union and the host village and Rs. 5,000 each to student unions of Nihokhu and Toshiho village for their cultural presentation during the inaugural function.
The invocation prayer for the function was pronounced by Pastor Vikuto Kappo, Chairperson, AACLF. Khesheli Swu, cultural secretary of the union chaired the function. Mughabeto Zhimo, president AAKK delivered welcome address and Shikavi Zhimo, president, AAGA proposed vote of thanks. More than thousand students are taking part in the conference.
