Students’ residence gutted at Tseminyu

Dimapur, March 2 (MExN): A residence of school children was gutted by fire completely on March 2 at around 10:30 am at Tseminyu town. It was reported that the house was occupied by 10 students; no cases of casualty and injury were reported as the students were not at home during the incident, as it happened in the school hour. All the tenants of the house were learnt to be in the classes of UKG to VIII standard, informed the Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) in a press note issued by its president Kenneth Rengma and general secretary Solozu Kent.
The RSU in the note stated: “The inferno could not be contained due to shortage of water in the locality and absence of Fire Services in the Sub-division where the resident of the Town feared that such incident may lead to a mass destruction in the near future.”
It also said that after the incident, the ADC Tseminyu alongwith the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Tseminyu Branch visited the spot and later on an immediate relief material like blankets, emergency lights and kitchen wares were distributed to the victims by the IRSC, Tseminyu Branch in the presence of L Khomo, EAC Sardar Tseminyu and  Rengma Students Union, president Kenneth Rengma   and general secretary Solozu Kent.
The Rengma Students Union, president Kenneth Rengma   and general secretary Solozu Kent  while expressing sympathy to the victims’ family stated that the union will look into the wellbeing of those affected students and also will provide necessary study materials to the 10 victims.
